Pamukkale Tour from Marmaris
Pamukkale, which literally means “Cotton Castle,” can truly be called the 8th wonder of the world. This natural formation consists of hot springs and terraces formed of travertine. It can be clearly seen from the hills on the opposite side of the valley, in the city of Denizli. At the top of the white “castle,” the ancient city of Hierapolis was built at a length of about 2700 m, a width of 600 m and a height of 160 meters.
Here you can visit the ancient Roman amphitheater, the Historical Museum (the former Turkish baths), antique pool of Cleopatra, a monumental tomb of St. Philip, the magnificent Necropolis of Anatolia, and more.
Due to the fine white travertine and the historical value of the ancient city of Pamukkale, it has been added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1988.
